I cannot recommend Italy Car Rent enough. After being left stranded by the much larger, internationally-renowned SIXT Rental Car company (who refused to honor a prepaid booking due to a system error on their side), the team here stepped in immediately. They were professional, efficient, and turned a very stressful situation into a seamless experience. They provided a great vehicle and were straightforward and easy to work with! Italy Car Rent gets lot of bad reviews because it's very easy to scratch a car in the narrow streets of Italia; and they do scrutinize returns. But you can avoid issues by paying for their insurance or putting it on a credit card that has insurance. We rent out of the Pisa airport A LOT and will definitely be using Italy Car Rent as our main vendor going forward (and never again SIXT!!!). Five stars to Italy Car Rent (and especially to Alessia!) for the service and the peace of mind.

Relatively quick pick-up (it was after 9 PM). The car seat for an infant (<1yo) was poor quality and in bad condition (it’s best to bring your own if you're traveling with a baby that young), but it did the job in the end. We received a car in the class we booked; it was relatively clean inside, with a few minor dents on the outside (but hey, it’s Italy), which wasn't an issue for us. CarPlay worked via cable (with occasional dropouts). No one pushed hard for extra insurance, which I consider a huge plus. Upon return, the fuel gauge wasn't quite at the very top (just like when we picked it up), even though we filled the tank to the brim 10 minutes before dropping it off. The staff had a slight issue with this, but after we showed them the gas receipt, the employee accepted our explanation and we signed the return paperwork. The security deposit was released immediately (another huge plus). Overall, I can recommend this company.

I highly recommend this Car Rental Company. It was our wedding weekend and our flights were delayed, baggage was lost and Stefano was so kind to hold our car for the following day which I know is not always so common. All was fine, I picked up a car late in the evening and all was smooth- I was informed about the state of the car which had some dents and scratches on the body, I got upgrade to a bigger suv than I booked (which was a bit inconvenient as i am not use to driving such a big car) but i was being careful all the time while driving. I had private insurance and didnt get any feeling i was being pressured to buy theirs. The lady just explained that they need deposit and all issues shall be explained with my insurer. Upon the return they checked the car and that’s all. All in all positive experience.

One thing you must be aware of when hiring a car in Italy you must have a credit card, if you use a debit card you will be stung for full insurance, it cost us £200 for six days, SO READ THE SMALL PRINT. Very good!!! I was a little hesitant at first, because all the car rental organizations score low on reviews, but Italy car rent really helped me out! Nice people, a very good price. They even whats apped me before hand that I had an electric car (if I was aware of that) and potential extra fees for picking up my car after hours. Transparency, but customer focused. I didn’t have to be afraid of not being able to pick up my car or whatsoever. Also, a video of the fact we didn’t recharge the car as evidence for the additional cost. All super friendly 👍🏻👍🏻I wil surely recommend this organization.

We rented three Fiat 500 or similar cars for a week. Of course we didn't get 500, but instead three Pandas - so be prepared for this. Otherwise rental price was good, service was good. Deposit was 900€ since we took a basic protection. In the return the service was also good, they just inspected the car and deposit was released on the same day. Make sure to bring your credit card, otherwise you'll have to buy full protection.

To be honest, we booked before reading the reviews, so I was a bit worried. But to be honest, we were helped very well and at the return the agent was friendly too. Honestly, it’s Italy so the service is a bit bolt and it might come over as impolite. There are 2 tips I recommend to do: 1. take an insurance (external or with them) 2. film and take pictures of the car at pick up and for sure the front and back bumper! We got charged for some scratches for the bottom of the front bumper. Were they there before? Not sure, but it was from stones or branches. I didn’t take a picture of that part of course 😏Fair enough, we got a reimbursement from the (external) insurance.
