Buy the additional insurance they offer and save yourself the headache! If you are using this company make sure you take out their additional insurance when you collect your keys. It’s called Super Kasko Plus, read the terms and conditions in the small print. It covers a lot. Yes it’s an additional expense but it’s so worth it. Driving in Sicily isn’t exactly easy, road conditions, roadside shrubs which can easily scratch the car. It will be picked up on! The car rental itself was £280 and the insurance was £225. For a week of unlimited use that’s good value. (This isn’t a sponsored review, just someone who’s done the research on european car rental)

I cannot recommend Italy Car Rent enough. After being left stranded by the much larger, internationally-renowned SIXT Rental Car company (who refused to honor a prepaid booking due to a system error on their side), the team here stepped in immediately. They were professional, efficient, and turned a very stressful situation into a seamless experience. They provided a great vehicle and were straightforward and easy to work with! Italy Car Rent gets lot of bad reviews because it's very easy to scratch a car in the narrow streets of Italia; and they do scrutinize returns. But you can avoid issues by paying for their insurance or putting it on a credit card that has insurance. We rent out of the Pisa airport A LOT and will definitely be using Italy Car Rent as our main vendor going forward (and never again SIXT!!!). Five stars to Italy Car Rent (and especially to Alessia!) for the service and the peace of mind.

Efficient
We picked the car up in Catania. Once we had found the car rental office at the airport, everything was super efficient and quick. The Sat Nav was not updated so sent us on a bit of a wild goose chase for our villa, but otherwise everything was great. The drop off was very easy and quick as well. Would use them again.

Easy, simple rental. Car was spotless, child seats where very modern and immaculate. Which I can't say for other companies. Staff support was excellent. No hassle drop off. Will definitely use Italy car rent again. See you next year.

Relatively quick pick-up (it was after 9 PM). The car seat for an infant (<1yo) was poor quality and in bad condition (it’s best to bring your own if you're traveling with a baby that young), but it did the job in the end. We received a car in the class we booked; it was relatively clean inside, with a few minor dents on the outside (but hey, it’s Italy), which wasn't an issue for us. CarPlay worked via cable (with occasional dropouts). No one pushed hard for extra insurance, which I consider a huge plus. Upon return, the fuel gauge wasn't quite at the very top (just like when we picked it up), even though we filled the tank to the brim 10 minutes before dropping it off. The staff had a slight issue with this, but after we showed them the gas receipt, the employee accepted our explanation and we signed the return paperwork. The security deposit was released immediately (another huge plus). Overall, I can recommend this company.

Overall a good experience. Highs: helpful and friendly staff at the pickup point, easy booking process online. Lows: pickup point is 10min shuttle bus from terminal.

No issues with dropping the car off, but the staff could smile a bit more. Overall a modern, clean car so I cant complain about that!

Just back from a week in Lake Garda. We rented a car at Malpensa airport (MXP) from Italy Car Rent through Stress Free Car Rent. Booking was very simple. On arrival at airport staff on Italy Car Rent desk were friendly and everything was fully explained. There was no pressure put on us to take out extra insurance cover. Pick up was simple with car parked in car park just outside terminal. We returned car at 3am, rental desk was closed but there was a key drop box. Received email once office had opened to confirm no issues with car. Would recommend Italy Car Rent based on my experience.

We experienced no issue. They probably do charge for every minor thing, but for us the delivery and return went without any hassle. The car had quite a lot of tiny issues before, which is probably an advantage. We got the car without washing fluid, otherwise all good! (Fiat panda)

I had a pleasant and professional experience renting from here. I had booked a small automatic car, and received a 2025 Peugeot 208 Style, with Android Auto/Apple Car play. The car was clean and fun to drive. The Odometer read 40K kilometres. The car was provided with full tank of fuel. Unfortunately, I scratched the car. The staff, very professionally, handled all the paperwork. I had full insurance from a third party insurer, and the staff politely guided me through the steps on how I can claim my insurance. She provided me with all the documents.
