Rent a car at Catania Airport

Buy the additional insurance they offer and save yourself the headache! If you are using this company make sure you take out their additional insurance when you collect your keys. It’s called Super Kasko Plus, read the terms and conditions in the small print. It covers a lot. Yes it’s an additional expense but it’s so worth it. Driving in Sicily isn’t exactly easy, road conditions, roadside shrubs which can easily scratch the car. It will be picked up on! The car rental itself was £280 and the insurance was £225. For a week of unlimited use that’s good value. (This isn’t a sponsored review, just someone who’s done the research on european car rental)

The car was new and nice, the service was a little bit slow and not too friendly

I think the negative reviews here do not do the justice to this company. The office is about 200 metres along the airport entrance, just where all the other rental companies park the cars. All the cars I saw at their car park are practically new, without scratches. We were a big family of 5 at Catania airport with many bags so they upgraded us for free from a new Jaecoo to a new Peugeot 3008 which had a larger trunk. The rental cost was very good compared to other companies and the insurance (that we paid) was not high (unlike mentioned in another review here) but totally acceptable, considering how narrow Sicilian streets are. The rental procedure was very smooth with no unexpected surprises. We returned the car at the same place, the company employee only checked the fuel level, not mentioning how dirty the car was after a few hundred kilometres we drove it along the Sicily coast,... just smooth and professional experience in any respect. I definitely recommend this company to anybody again.

This was already my third time renting with Italy Car Rent, and once again the experience was absolutely fantastic. The car we received was excellent - new, clean, comfortable, reliable, and perfect for our 1-week stay in Sicily. Very professional service, smooth pickup and easy early-morning key return at Catania Airport. Finding the rental parking on return was a bit tricky, but overall everything worked perfectly. Highly recommended and definitely my go-to rent-a-car in Sicily.

Very friendly and helpful staff — a pleasant surprise! The car was in good condition, with some minor damages, all properly noted in the handover report. Both pick-up and drop-off were quick and smooth, without any issues. Of course, I also took photos and videos of all damages and imperfections, but there were no problems at return. Personally, I was pleasantly surprised and I will rent from them again without any hesitation/ problem.

I have booked a car via booking.com. Got updated with almost a new Omoda, a super nice automatic car for Sicily. Pick up and return are very smooth. Car was check when it returned and everything is okay. Received deposit within hours! Strong recommend Italy car rent!

While visiting Sicily for a month we rented 2 vehicles from ICR. In both cases the check in and car returns went smoothly, vehicles were clean and ready to go. I will definitely use ICR again next year

The car was good, check out and check in went smooth. Not so happy about charging 35Euro per day for insurance.

Friendly and efficient process to pick up the car - including making a note of some previously unrecorded damage - and a smooth handover at the end of the holiday. The car, an Opel Corsa, was fine for our needs: quiet and economical, and with no further damage despite having been driven through Palermo. The windscreen could do with a clean though!

Everything went perfectly, including the car pick-up which was very quick. I only had a problem finding the right entrance to the car park when returning the car at Catania airport.

Absolutely great experience! Low prices, quick and modern procedures, all documents signed digitally — no stress, no waiting, no hidden tricks. Everything felt super smooth and professional. Now, here’s the thing: get the full coverage. And I mean full — including tyres and glass — and choose the full-to-full petrol option. I did exactly that and had zero problems. When I was picking up the car, the lady just smiled and said, “Don’t worry about checking every scratch — you have full insurance.” When I dropped it off, the guy didn’t even walk around the car, just waved me off with a grin: “You’re fully protected, all good!” Deposit of €100 was back in my account the very next day. So, for all those leaving angry one-star reviews… 🤦‍♂️ Let’s be honest — if you think you can rent a car in Italy for €30 a week and somehow outsmart the system, well… the system will bite you back. 🐍 Be smart the other way around: pay for the full protection, enjoy your trip, and sleep peacefully. My total: €30 for 5 days + €110 for full insurance + €100 refundable deposit = zero stress, pure Italian adventure. 🇮🇹🚗🍕 Highly recommended — just don’t try to be cleverer than the insurance! Silly them 😄

Everything went smooth. Service was quick both at pick up and return. Google maps gps navigated me to the right spot. I took pictures of the car before taking it, and az the return i had to validate a scratch that was there but not indicated on the pick up document, but it was accepted without any hassle. Got my deposit back in 24 hours. The car was clean and worked perfectly.
