Such a good experiance in June 2026. Really friendly. Just be sensible with excess insurance and take photos ans videos of EVERYTHING. When I checked the car back in, the lady checking the car said she needed to see a photo of a scratch that wasn't on the car report and I showed the image and she was happy.

I always feel a little anxious when renting a car, but overall this was one of the best car hire experiences I’ve had. Pick-up at Fiumicino Airport was quick and straightforward, and the staff were very friendly throughout. Additional insurance was offered, but there was no pressure to purchase it, as I had already arranged my own excess insurance policy beforehand in the UK. There was one issue when I first got into the car: it had been left in gear without the handbrake on, so it immediately bounced backwards and hit a sign. The staff came out apologised profusely and handled the situation very well, (there was no damage but initially thought there would have been!!!). Car was in very good condition and drove well. Returning it was very easy and completely stress-free. The car was checked over in around 5 minutes and I was simply told, “Looks great, thanks!” I received notification that my deposit refund had been processed before I had even reached the bag-drop area in the airport. Despite the initial mishap, I would highly recommend them. The staff were friendly, helpful and made the whole process as smooth as possible. Thanks :)

Italy car rent is always my no.1 choice in Cagliari. The office is straight outside arrivals hall and cars only a few steps outside the terminal. Never had a problem in more than 10 + rentals in the past few years.

After reading other reviews, I had some trepidation booking with Italy Car Rent. The people at FCO were very helpful and thorough. I spent the money on great insurance, and didn’t need to worry about the reported nickel and diming when returning the vehicle. I was given a WhatsApp number for the Florence office, and found it very helpful returning the vehicle.
